Livin’ the dream

Can I tell you about my new favorite food possibly ever?

Okay, so not really ever because, in a way, that’s sort of depressing that something this trivial (but still totally awesome) would be my favorite food. But, hey, I’m a cheap/poor college student and these are awesome recipes.

Recipe Numero 1

Cake in a mug. Or Mugcakes. Whichever you prefer.

This recipe is pretty intense, so prepare to have your mind blown.

Step 1: Buy a cake mix, preferably in your favorite flavor. (Thus, I choose double chocolate fudge.) Also, choose one that is on sale. Because that makes this treat even more magical.

Step 2.  Pour a little bit of cake mix into the mug. Just the stuff straight out of the box, no eggs or oil.

Step 3.  (HIGHLY SCIENTIFIC PORTION)  Add enough water for the cake mix to have the consistency of cake batter. If you add too much water, just add more cake mix, NBD.

Step 4. Microwave for 30-60 seconds (depending on the amount of cake batter in your mug, obviously.)

Step 5. Eat. Say yum out loud. Smile.  (This is the most important step!)

Recipe Number 2.

Step 1: Buy a muffin mix, preferably in your favorite flavor. Also, choose one that is on sale–typically jiffy mixes work well for this because they are very very very not expensive. Because that makes this treat even more magical.

Step 2.  Pour a little bit of muffin mix into the mug. Just the stuff straight out of the box, no eggs or oil.

Step 3.  (HIGHLY SCIENTIFIC PORTION)  Add enough water for the muffin mix to have the consistency of muffin batter. If you add too much water, just add more juffin mix, NBD.

Step 4. Microwave for 30-60 seconds (depending on the amount of muffin batter in your mug, obviously.)

Step 5. Eat. Say yum out loud. Smile.  (This is the most important step!)

FYI: Those recipes are exactly the same, you just start with a different base–in case you didn’t notice. More FYI: I did just copy and paste the second recipe from the first recipe and changed some keywords (aka muffin).

Pretty much, I think these recipes will be the things that get me through the fact that I don’t get a spring break. And the fact that there are not very many days until graduation. And the fact that I am poor, but that is hardly relevant.

You must try these recipes! You must! You must! I think they will change your life forever.

  1. This is the best recipe for cake in a mug ever. And by best, I mean easiest. I can’t wait to try it. Also… juffin mix sounds delicious.
