School Supply Junkie

Hi, my name is Liz and I’m addicted to school supplies.

Come July 5, all the school supplies get set up in the schools. Beautiful, blank notebooks. Unsharpened pencils.  Rainbows of crayons and markers. Gobs of gluesticks.

Planners.

Rulers.

Lunchboxes.

Backpacks.

Post it notes

It’s beautiful.

And, I confess, I want to buy it all.

In the least weird way possible, sometimes, I just want to open a brand new notebook and stare at the blank pages and take in the potential for new knowledge that it holds.

I love to sharpen pencils–first, just to smell the newly sharpened pencil smell, and second to write with the pointy, dark lead.

I love to organize my life in a planner, using post it notes, highlighters, and blue pens.  It makes me feel like my life is so much more official than it actually is.  🙂

Let’s face it, this addiction isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

So….if you want to make me completely overwhelmed with happiness, send me a bouquet of sharpened pencils, or  an Office Max gift card.

  1. I know what you mean. A former coworker of mine and I loved going into Office Max, The Container Store, or anywhere like that. She said we were “office supply geeks,” which I liked the sound of. The weird part is that once I get a cool new office toy (like a notebook), I don’t want to use it for a while. I just want it to be fresh and clean and shiny and new. 😉
